Well, guys I've a couple of problems. 1st i think that my system isn't running as fast as it should, while it has muscles to calculate with its 2Ghz Intel Core Duo, 1024MB RAM with ATI Radeon X1600 256MB Graffics/Video card. when i run the benchmarks. this is the result that i get: PU type Power Macintosh PowerMac Number of CPUs 2 Operating System Darwin 8.5.1 Memory 1021 MB Cache 976.56 KB Swap space 0 MB Total disk space 233.32 GB Free Disk Space 199.16 GB Measured floating point speed 524.03 million ops/sec Measured integer speed 850.08 million ops/sec Average turnaround time 0.82 days Maximum daily WU quota per CPU 32/day The benchmark thinks i've got a powermac.. no its not!!! my system should be faster then a powermac G5. I let my mac calculate continiously. but still not fast enough i think. What can i do to make the system work faster? What should my system be able to produce? how can i compere the theoretical production numbers with actual numbers? Will a macintel optimized boinc appear in the near future??? 2nd.. A lot of projects seem to crash while calculating..... Especially Rosetta@Home. That is actualy one of the projects i would like to participate in the most. einstein@home and seti seem to be the only correct working projects. 3th... The sreensavers of all the projects seem to crash my boinc as soon as i push the button. It simply crashes.. Well crashing was exactly the reason i switched from windows to MAC OSX. Why those that happen? When will it be solved? How can i get a desent working screensaver on my machine? it gives at least the means to visiualize what the projects are ment for |
