I just downloaded and ran boinc_7.0.25_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh. It successfully created the BOINC directory and the run_manager and run_client scripts. When I execute the run_manager script, I get the following output: gwc@sirius ~ > /home/gwc/BOINC/run_manager ./boincmgr: Symbol `_ZTV12wxBufferedDC' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking ./boincmgr: Symbol `_ZTV10wxClientDC' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking ./boincmgr: Symbol `_ZTV10wxMemoryDC' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking Fatal Error: Mismatch between the program and library build versions detected. The library used 2.8 (no debug,Unicode, compiler with C++ ABI 1002,wx containers, compatible with 2.4,compatible with 2.6), and your program used 2.8 (no debug,Unicode, compiler with C++ ABI 1002,wx containers, compatible with 2.6). Aborted (core dumped) Output from uname: gwc@sirius ~ > uname -a Linux sirius 3.3.7-1.fc16.i686 #1 SMP Tue May 22 14:14:30 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux I'm a noob with BOINC and have no clue what the library is that is mentioned in the error message. I have looked in all the message boards for posts that mention the symbols that are referenced and for all that mention re-linking to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
