Hello Everyone, just signed up. I am trying to find out the system requirements for the Climate Prediction project via Oxford. I am running on a Linux 64-bit system and cannot seem to find on the Bonic or Climate Prediction sites if Oxford Unv. can run models on that. I know I have plenty of RAM [16GB] and a 1.5 TB HDD so that is not really an issue. I just want to be sure that a 64-bit Linux would be of use. Thanks in advance for your help. Link to the CPDN applications page: http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/apps.php Looks like Linux apps are 32-bit, so you would need to be sure 32-bit libraries are installed to receive work. |

Thank you Bobcat, I am supprised that the Linux is just x86 32-bit; hopefully they will notch it up for 2013. I am planning on building a 'dedicated' system just for helping the scientific world. I have room on this system but really would prefer to keep it at 64-bit. Thanks again for the link> got it bookmarked. Not with a Bang but a Whimper; TSE |
