I've read somewhere that there is a possibility of redeeming credits but the ideas ran far(iTunes) or short(1 other idea - EZNews). The idea of gaining credit for use with iTunes is that the Credit gained is virtual and has no monetary value even though that you are using a Physical Computer to do the processing to gain the Credit. But the idea of maybe using the credit twords created content from Students in Colleges and Universities might be able to help them with their studies as they could use the Credit for E-Books or any other virtual content from other Students. EZNews? May be an idea that you could use the credit to gain access to content on major News sites to read up on what is going on in the world... E-Newspaper Subscriptions by E-Mail? School Newsettes? Credit for draws like a T-Shirt or a Hat maybe? Would be interesting on what else that you could do with Virtual Credit. |

Best leave it without any value whatsoever, as as soon as it has some form of value, people will scream that their machine isn't getting enough of it on project A, or too much on project B. That happens already, but in lesser form than it would probably do if there was an actual value put to the credits. Or at least, a value with which one could use them to buy stuff. Nothing said about the the implementation, as you'd need some form of BOINC Bank. |

It is Easynews, not EZNews, and only works with World Community Grid. http://www.easynews.com/faq.html#90 |
