I have returned to volunteering after a few years, so I know well how setiathome SHOULD work. I have been upset because I am with my former team (trying to rack up the numbers for them), and everything I do just "goes away". My computer was working on a project TWO seperate times, and when they got to a little over 25% completed - they vanished. Then I got another project to nearly 50% - and it vanished. This morning I started Seti up - and my 200+ hours of computing time also vanished, and it was back to 0%. HOW can I help my team if I never get any project to the 100%? And why did the accounting of the 200+ hours - hours that I earned, go away, too? I am VERY discouraged, and am considering quitting. By now, I should have had at least a 1 on my tally board - but I still have that zero. That tally number is important to us volunteers, it is, basically, our "pay" for the computer time that we provide. If I get NOTHING in return - how can I help my team?
This morning, when I tried to log in on this site, the message said that it had no record of my account, and I had to reregister. So, I have also lost the many days that my computer has already provided, too. What's going on?

Well, you've come to the BOINC forums, not the Seti forums. The Seti forums is where your account will be, the BOINC forums are for that matter a new place. We don't do any work here, it's the place to be to complain about BOINC or report bugs about it, or ask general help on how to get it running.

You though will need to start at the Seti helpdesk forums, after Seti is back from its maintenance. Every Tuesday Seti has several hours of maintenance (backing up mostly). During this time the project is unavailable, their forums are down.

Posting something there will help the person(s) trying to help you, as when they then click on your name, and you do not have your computers hidden from sight on the web site, they can see what your computer's been doing all this time. Or what errors, if any, it has returned.
