I re-installed my OS a week back. One of the first things I did was install BOINC and, I swear, the SETI and Einstein projects loaded successfully when I started it. The screensaver, though, said BOINC wasn't running. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now I can't even load a project (Tools > Add project or account manager...). It's not that it doesn't give me options... clicking on the link doesn't even load. Somethings wrong, I know, but wait... is it processing?? I look at Task Mangler. It shows two Einstein projects processing and the CPUs pegged at 100%. That's exactly what I'd expect with BOINC running! I'm soooooo confused. Any advice what I should check?

OS: Windows 7
BOINC: 7.028 (when it loads properly)
Also running avast! Antivirus and Mobicip internet filter.

That's exactly what I'd expect with BOINC running! I'm soooooo confused.

If boinc.exe is running then BOINC is running.

If you also see boincmgr.exe running then BOINC Manager is running also (boinc.exe can run projects without boincmgr.exe running)

Well, two days ago, I would've said that both those tabs showed nothing. Now they're both showing lots.
Two days ago, I would've said that "Add project or account manager" didn't work. Now it does.
Now if I could only get the screen saver to work. It runs the BOINC screen saver, but then shows "BOINC is not running."
Any suggestions?

boinc.exe, boincmgr.exe and boinctray.exe are all three running as are two Einstein projects.

Then probably your firewall is preventing boinc.scr to communicate with boinc.exe
What firewall do you use (may be bundled with the antivirus/security package)?

(But otherwise what you say shows that BOINC is running OK, just the screen saver can't get the info from boinc.exe and see/show its status)

AAAHHHH!!! Still not loading. Still not downloading. There's no rhyme or reason for it. I even thought, maybe it's the free avast antivirus and firewall. I uninstalled that and installed Symantec. No luck. Next, I'll try to disable MobiCIP. After that I need to take it to my computer geek friend. I'd like to avoid that, though.
