I wanted to upgrade to the latest version of BOINC. So I downloaded it and ran the installation while BOINC was running. Installation failed because boinc.msi not found. When I found boinc.msi, that didn't work either.

Decided to uninstall BOINC. That didn't work as no boinc.msi.

Deleted program files \ boinc. no help in installing BOINC.

How do I install the latest version of BOINC?

Long term user of BOINC for Einstein at home.

Windows XP, Firefox

See this BoincFaq entry for further info:

Windows Installer Error 1706: Setup cannot find the required files / 1714: older version cannot be removed / BOINC.msi cannot be found / The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable / Error 1325. is not a valid short name
