BOINC The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package ‘BOINC.msi’ In the box below. Use source: C:\Windows\Downloaded Installations\{7B0EB643-3966-4474-B417-F82930F9DFC8}\ Error 1706. No valid source code could be found for product BOINC. The Windows Installer can not continue. boinc_7.0.28_windows_x86_64 (version) Dell Inspiron 630 Intel Core i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00 Ghz 6.00 GB Installed memory 4.92 GB usable Windows 7 Home Premium (64 Bit) Service Pack 1 ![]() |

Same problem here Mark. Attempting to upgrade a fully working BOINC version 6.something-or-other to 7.0.28 so that all my machines are running the same version has rendered it unusable. In this case, the missing source appears to be C:\Windows\Downloaded Installations\{08407DB1-DEAD-4769-86EB-B29C0EFAF11A}\ I though "DEAD" was a bit ominous given to proximity of hallowe'en :) I note the suggestion that this is a Windows problem but it's odd that none of the other (many)software upgrades I have made to other apps in the last 12 months has caused this problem. |
